Annie Carpenter, creator of SmartFLOW® Yoga, is an international yoga teacher based in northern California. Known as a “teacher’s teacher,” she has created a well-respected system of yoga practice and methodology. A committed student, Annie continues to bring her curiosity and love of anatomy, evolutionary movement, meditation, and classical philosophy into her teachings.
Annie is the author of RelaxDEEPLY, a CD of restorative yoga, and Yoga for Total Back Care, a DVD produced by Yoga Journal, and several manuals. An influential teacher trainer since 2003, Annie leads 200-hr and 500-hr trainings and workshops globally and at YogaGlo.com.
SmartFLOW Yoga is a modern approach with an anatomically sound foundation and inspired, creative sequencing rooted in deep respect for the lineages of Integral, Iyengar, and Ashtanga Yoga. With that knowledge comes compassion, peace, and appreciation for all life.
Seane Corn is an internationally celebrated yoga teacher known for her impassioned activism, unique self-expression, and inspirational style of teaching. Featured on NPR and Oprah.com, as well as in numerous commercials and magazines, Seane utilizes her national platform to bring awareness to global humanitarian issues.
In 2005, she was named National Yoga Ambassador for YouthAIDS, and in 2013 was honored with the Global Green International Environmental Leadership Award. Since 2007, she has been training activists through her cofounded organization, Off the Mat, Into the World™.
Seane has spent time in the United States, India, Cambodia, Haiti, and Africa teaching yoga, providing support for child labor, and educating about HIV/AIDS prevention. Seane is also cofounder of the Seva Challenge Humanitarian Tours, aimed at involving the yoga community in fund- and awareness-raising efforts throughout the world.
Tiffany Cruikshank is the founder of Yoga Medicine®, a community of yoga teachers focused on fusing anatomy and Western medicine with traditional practices of yoga to help people live their healthiest lives and truly thrive.
Tiffany is the author of two books, Optimal Health for a Vibrant Life and Meditate Your Weight. She’s also an instructor on YogaGlo.com and runs teacher trainings worldwide.
Acclaimed for her ability to blend the two worlds of Eastern and Western medicine together in an accessible and relevant way, Tiffany began practicing yoga when she was in her early teens and has been teaching for more than 20 years. Her medical background in medicinal plant biology, acupuncture, and sports medicine center her teaching in anatomic focus and a deeper understanding of complex systems.
Recognized broadly as a health and wellness expert, Tiffany has worked with professional athletes, celebrities, and renowned medical professionals from around the world.
Chelsea Jackson Roberts
Chelsea Jackson Roberts, PhD, is a yoga educator, educational researcher, and founder of Yoga, Literature, and Art Camp for Teen Girls at Spelman College Museum of Fine Art. Her work places emphasis on building community through practice, and she is deeply committed to using yoga as a tool to support how we understand our relationships with self and others.
Dr. Roberts’ research within the field of educational studies focuses on language, literacy, culture, and yoga and she consistently integrates literature, storytelling, and embodied movement throughout her offerings. She is cofounder of the Atlanta-based nonprofit Red Clay Yoga and facilitates an online yoga community called Chelsea Loves Yoga that illuminates the images and stories of yogis who are often ignored, dismissed, or silenced.
Co-editor of Yoga, the Body, and Embodied Social Change: An Intersectional Feminist Analysis, Chelsea is also a faculty member of Off the Mat, Into the World™.
Sally Kempton, a former swami in a Vedic tradition, has been practicing and teaching yoga for more than 40 years. Her teachings combine profound knowledge of the texts of yoga and Tantra with practical wisdom from contemporary psychology and integral thought.
She is a powerful teacher of applied spiritual wisdom, known for her capacity to kindle meditative states in others, and to help students work with meditative experience as a framework for practical life-change. She teaches retreats, workshops, and teleclasses, and is on the faculty at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, and the Kripalu Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
Sally is the author of Meditation for the Love of It and the best-selling book, Awakening Shakti: The Transformative Power of the Goddesses of Yoga. Her audio program, Doorways to the Infinite: The Art & Practice of Tantric Meditation, was released by Sounds True.
Colleen Saidman Yee
Colleen Saidman, an American yoga instructor and a graduate of Jivamukti teacher training program, was crowned the First Lady of Yoga by the New York Times in 2013 and has appeared in Yoga Journal, Vanity Fair, New York magazine, Allure, and O, The Oprah Magazine.
A yoga practitioner for more than 20 years and a teacher for more than 15, Colleen is director and owner of the popular Yoga Shanti studio in Sag Harbor, New York, codirector of the Urban Zen integrative therapy program, and cofounder with her husband Rodney Yee of the Gaiam Yoga Club.
Before establishing herself on the yoga circuit, Colleen traveled extensively and had a varied career, including working as a model and living in Calcutta, India, helping Mother Theresa at the Home for the Dying and Destitute.
Colleen leads teacher trainings and workshops nationally and internationally.
Rodney Yee is considered a pioneer of yoga in the United States and is one of the most recognized yoga instructors in the world. A practitioner for more than 30 years, Rodney initially became a yoga enthusiast as a student of Iyengar Yoga but now teaches a blend of Iyengar and his own invented style.
He began his teaching career at The Yoga Room in Berkeley, California, later cofounding the Piedmont Yoga Studio in Oakland. Currently based in New York, he teaches regularly at Yoga Shanti, a Sag Harbor studio owned by his wife and well-known yoga teacher Colleen Saidman.
Rodney leads teacher trainings, workshops, and retreats nationally and internationally, many of them with Colleen. He has also been teaching advanced yoga teacher trainings at studios throughout the country for more than 15 years.
A former dancer with the Oakland Ballet Company and the Matsuyama Ballet Company of Tokyo, Rodney has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, CNN, and PBS, and is featured in more than 30 instructional video/DVD series by GAIM.
The coauthor of two books, Yoga: The Poetry of the Body and Moving Toward Balance, he serves as a cochair of the Urban Zen Health and Wellness Initiative, a foundation dedicated to bringing yoga, massage, and holistic therapies to hospitals around the nation.
Shane Roberts is a certified 200-hour yoga teacher from Kashi Atlanta Urban Ashram who uses the tools of yoga as a foundation for political action and ancestral grounding.
He is the co-founder of Red Clay Yoga, a non-profit dedicated to facilitating brave spaces for teens and adults to engage yoga, literature, art, movement, and civic awareness thru workshops, camps, and retreats.
He is the co-founder of Yoga, Art, and Movement Camp and is an avid supporter Yoga, Literature and Art Camps in Atlanta.
Sri Dharma Mittra
Sri Dharma Mittra is founder and director of the Dharma Yoga Center in New York City. He has dedicated most of his life in service to teaching classical yoga, advanced postures, yoga philosophy, and the skills required to lead a simple, happy, and fulfilled life. One of the first independent yoga teachers on the East Coast, he has initiated hundreds of thousands on the path of yogic practice and teaching.
Truly a "teacher's teacher," Sri Dharma began teaching asana and pranayama after devoting a decade as a full-time yogi and brahmachari—a celibate religious student who lives with their teacher and devotes themselves to the practice of spiritual disciplines.
He is the author of Asanas: 608 Yoga Poses and the instructional video series Maha Sadhana: The Great Practice. Sri Dharma completed the Master Yoga Chart of 908 Postures in 1984, after he meticulously photographed himself in 1,300 yoga postures. The chart is hung in many ashrams and yoga centers worldwide, as a teaching tool and inspiration. He tirelessly promotes ahimsa (non-harming) through vegetarianism, veganism, and kindness to all living beings, especially the animal kingdom.
